That is a phenomenal design. They've made some great videos too. That thing seems like a real opportunity for us regular folks to go foiling. I hope they start getting some class regattas. Fantastic to watch.

 

And at a fraction the cost of the new Melgus 40...

 

And the Flying Phantom at about 20% of the 32...both excelent foilers.

Interesting video showing the GC32 foil rake adjustment. It appears very similar to the Flying Phantom and Groupama's systems. I'm tempted to say it is a generic way to adjust the angle of incidence of the foil. What can separate these boats using UptiP foils is the frequency of foil adjustment which we know is low on the 32 and Phantom:

for sure next time someone asks me what I do on board I am going to say 'foil adjuster' lol

 

First recorded foiling gybe by the GC32. Luna Rosa did it in only about 12 knots wind:

Nice to see all the hard work come together for the GC32 team. Also interesting to read that Team Richard Mille are going to have a crack at the Round the Island record currently held by Sir Ben Ainslie on the BAR AC45 with a GC32. The Round the Island Race is scheduled for Saturday 21st of June and the record currently stands at 2:52:15

Chris Draper, helmsman of Luna Rossa, commented: “We are very happy with the result, the average speed at which we sailed and the boat handling. The GC32s are very challenging full foiling catamarans, especially from a physical point of view. The speed is remarkable: with only 10 knots of breeze, we exceeded 30 knots of speed.

 

anyone find it weird that the Australians are not sailing these?

Team Richard Mille, the foiling GC32 is first across the finish line of the 83rd J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race.
They crossed the line at 15:31:39 which means they were on the race track for 8 hours and 51 minutes, exactly one hour less than the record for the longest finishing time for a line honours winner set by Thomas Ratsey back in 1931.
