Steady as she goes...on a good course. He's got to be dreaming of Caribbean cocktails by now.

One wonders about the motions of this thing, and human comfort, it is also a rather confining capsule, with little sense of being in the open, unless perched atop it. In short, sounds awful !

He has internet in there, otherwise he'd been probably bored to death by now.

About the motion, I'll soon post some pics of a sailing boat that looks worse, it's all about the desire to do something ‘‘special’’, and about the desire to keep the viewers entertained I think.

    Thank you for that Jean-Jacques . . :)

He has brought a bottle of wine already for special occasions . . .

Smaller than Jean-Jacques barrel I think, bare hull length between perpendiculars 8' (2.44 m), and meant to have a sail and a rudder, and it has as goal to sail around the world . . .

(note: the keel is a structural hull girder, and as such is already there, but here yet unpainted, the keel gap is meant for the lead ballast)

I'll soon post a bunch of links to it on an appropriate thread, and will post a link to to that post here, hope to discuss it on the other thread.

… and back to barrel builder, this thread is also the opportunity to pay tribute to an underratted sailor, son of a barrel builder in the Bordeaux wineyards region, who won the olympic gold medal in Finn in 1972 (John Bertrand was 4th in this regatta) and the Finn Gold Cup in 1973, and…. then returned to the family company to manage it. It is Serge Maury , from "Maury and sons" recently linked to TFF bigger company :

Good thing. They don't exactly have a lot of food to spare!

My guess is Eleuthera Bahamas ;) , so exactly like the capsized trimaran Drekan Groupe, which drifted from Azores (capsize during the 2017 Jacques Vabre) till Eleuthera 15 months later.

I have read he received some food in March from the US Research Vessel Ron Brown which cruised in the same waters at that times.

That's a good thing, as I was worrying Jean-Jacques might lose some weight . .

Below Sven Yrvind in the early 1970's after a trip, not sure if this was a scarce food issue only, as he picked up two girls along the way . . .

The hope for Venezuela was that he might share his last food there and leave them his solar cells, now my guess is with Dolfiman.

My guess is he will end up in the British Virgin Islands.
