    Hi,
I'm looking at performing a free running test of my new planing hull design to assess the seakeeping attribute of the hull. I found the ITTC guidelines which are very useful given the fact that it will be my first free running test. http://ittc.sname.org/2006_recomm_proc/7.5-02-07-02.1.pdf

I was wondering whether it is possible to estimate the hull resistance too?! knowing the prop KT KQ curves as well as the electric motor characteristics. This cannot be as accurate as conventional tank testing but may give me an idea?
Has anyone ever tried something like that?
