I have few regrets but one is not buying a 15 m x 3m laminating table that came up about 10 years ago.......................... was really cheap due to transport costs & state of economy, alas....
Grinding is not even such an issue with the vacuum extraction tools available, I'm working on a boat at present afloat grinding from zec discs through to 80g with extraction with no dust apparent on the water, with mask & visor on no personal comfort problems/itch.

I posted about the tile board direct molds as opposed to the large and expensive process of plug/fairing/fiberglass mold route.
If all the surfaces are develop-able, I would very seriously consider the flat mold method.

Well I will infuse the Bridge deck, roof, interior deck, bulkheads and various other components on the table but I really do like the mold workflow much better than taping individual pieces together.

You dont have to tape them together jorge! Dont just copy what i did- i had to build my boat from a double garage and under a tent.

You can include bonding flanges and all sorts to make it better- see rob dennys intelligent infusion write ups and videos etc

Perovskites solar cells. This is the area of greatest advancement these days ...

We have already presented a demonstration device able to charge a smartphone with solar energy. By the end of 2017 we plan to launch our test production line and we want to introduce the fully operational and large scale product by 2019.
    • 1/10 the thickness of a human hair
    • 200 grams per meter sq
    • 70% lower cost then conventional technologies
    • Flexible
    • Competitive with silicon cells - 100w per meter sq

Saule Technologies - Ultrathin, printable and semi-transparent solar cells http://sauletech.com/

I hope they stick to their timeline! Imagine if I could cover the sails with the stuff too .. they actually have an illustration of the cells on a sail, the future is around the corner!

I'm assuming you had properties in the Key's. Did it survive the storm? Has it changed your plans/funds to do your boat project??

    Hi Brian,

My plans are on track, will have the money for the design phase to get started shortly, that is not coming from house sale.

From the satellite pics, it looks like I came out okay so I am going to try and spin a silver lining on this hurricane and shoot some video to go with my real estate ad that shows how well built the property is, maybe even raise the price lol )). Might even enclose the balcony if any damage, use some insurance money to do that. They go by sq foot when they assess value so 300 more sq foot raise the value by about 120K. Just depends on if there is damage otherwise I don't want to mess with it.

Going to be a busy season!

This is my biggest focus :)

I am using Micanti anti-foul, no through hull fittings below waterline, even electric pod motors can be replaced with boat in water. Free standing carbon rigs, only main sails, special led lighting which I won't go into detail but eliminates wiring, I have a huge list of parameters for keeping this boat low maintenance.

My House- Post Irma - Walked inside and it was spotless, not even warm, outside I have one railing that fell and I checked it and the screws were corroded, I like Tough :) ... My neighbors houses were not so lucky or should I say not built as intelligently!

I also believe my Guardian Angels were at work, lol, as the palm trees were barely affected

    Hi Jorge,
Have not been following your subject thread on a regular basis, but I came back to this page while looking for 'dynarig' info I might have posted.

You appear to have mastered some significant 'illustration' capabilities, ...witness this outboard visualization of yours. Would you be willing to help me with a few 'visualizations' of a single diesel outboard installation on my 'alternative catamaran design' for Jimmy Buffett?
    Jimmy Buffett just bought a New Sail/Gamefishing Boat,...motorsailer https://www.boatdesign.net/threads/jimmy-buffett-just-bought-a-new-sail-gamefishing-boat-motorsailer.54630/
Speaking of single engine installation possibilities, I just ran across this old posting of mine,...
Have in mind making use of the new, innovative diesel outboard that Yamar is coming out with
