Hi Boston,
have you looked at the Kettenburgs in Southern California?? They have some similarities to the boats that you are looking at and are available at reasonable prices, especially if you consider a do upper. I owned a PCC, 47 feet long and just over eight foot beam, great boat and a decent sea boat, competed in the Transpac in the late 40's, early 50's. The 32 foot long PC would be ideal for your local lake boat and there is an active fleet in Marina Del Rey , Los Angeles. A K32 K38 or K40 would be OK for cruising. Ha ve a look at their website, just Google Kettenburg.
If you want a real cruising boat look at Lyle Hess's designs. He designed the Bristol Channel Cutter and both of the Pardey's boats. They sail surprisingly well.

Perhaps Nordic Cruiser

You have written about this boat for a long time ago. If you haven't found out more about this boat, maby I have the answer for you.
I am wooden sailor myself, during 21 years owning and sailing a boat called Nordisk Krydser (30m2) from 1931. The boat on your picture looks very much like that, and seems to be in the Stockholm area in Sweden.
If so, it is about 34-35 feet long.
Most of these Nordic Cruisers are very well maintained, and the style of this boat tells me that it can be built in the 1950's.
There have been built about 50 in Sweden and the same in Denmark.
I send you a picture of my boat, it is harbored in Roskilde, Denmark.
In the fifties there were exported some of these boats to USA. If anyone should have met one or more of these "over there", I am very interested in hearing about that. We are some NK-entusiasts who search around for knowledge of the desert of all Nordic Cruisers.
The sailmark is NK or 5½, and it is not a onetype-class, but a construction-class. Because of this there can be variating looks, but the size is approximately the same.
The NK has a minimum beam 2.10m, and a max. depth 1.48 m. Max Keel-weight is 1700 kg. Sailarea (real) is about 42 m2 with genoa-foresail. The class area is 30 m2 (main sail with straigt back, and 85 % of fore-triangel).
The class is also called a 5½M because the idea with the class was to shape a more seaworthy boat between the 5 and 6 M R-yacht.

There is a Gorgeous 30sq m laying derelict near here on a farm, real hard luck story. Vanya V Knud Reimers design from 1935, If anyone out there is rich enough i can point them in her direction!
