Does this mean all those liquor bottles won't be washing ashore like they once did ?

At Wärtsilä, we are fully engaged in developing ‘intelligent’ vessels since we consider such technologies to be vital to maintaining a profitable future for our customers.

... Extrapolate this out ... How will it be profitable when there are no more jobs. It's happening in so many industries, humans are being replaced, who is going to consume products and services without money?

Every piece of technology creates a new industry for new opportunities and mindless ones get automated.

90% of China is used to being in poverty and sustain themselves with little resources, the west won't escape this, they will crash harder than China.

Sure, taxis/truck drivers, Real Estate Agents, Brick and Mortar retail, and any industry that isn't directly affected will still suffer because of a domino effect, every industry is intrinsic to the economy, eliminate millions of workers and who will buy your goods or services.

The excuse proponents offer up is higher skilled jobs will be created, what they don't say is that it will be one job created for thousands lost.

Rise of the machines: Fear robots, not China or Mexico http://money.cnn.com/2017/01/30/news/economy/jobs-china-mexico-automation/index.html

Soon, humanity will become second to robots, at least Putin thinks so with his AI remark.
