This I did 2 years ago, and it still looks great. I used not more than 1 gallon.
Comes in various shades, I chose a brown that has some amount of red highlight.
The appearance and color has remained the same, and this gets full sun on it everyday Seaford VA.
I also put this on the teak swim platform and it has not yet peeled off. IT really looks great still on the teak wood, which honestly surprised me, I did no sanding of any of the wood, just scrubbed it clean, and scraped off the old finish with a razor blade.

IT goes on milky looking, then dries clear with a slight sheen which the water beads off from. IT also has some bulk to it, so it seals wood cracks like between planks. I put on 2 coats. When it dries, it is no longer water dilutable, so second coats have to brushed out a couple times becuase it transitions to more of an oil like based product as it dries. Brush cleaneup easy water wash unless you let it dry in the brush, so simply put it in a plastic grocery bag.

I really like how it has continued to shed the water away from the wood. If it ever needs recoating, I plan to just scrunge clean it with soap and water rinse, let dry and put more on. The wood transom is mahogany.

So if you want GLOSS, no dont use it, if you want long term durability that looks good, people walk by and like it, then use this.
