    Hello, and greetings from TheNavalArch

We are glad to publish a new article titled A simple method to select the right anchor for a Tanker/Gas Carrier

This article talks about a simplified method, based on OCIMF guidelines, to estimate the environmental loads on a tanker/gas carrier and evaluate if the anchor has sufficient holding power in the given environment.

    An excerpt is presented below:

    "

An anchoring system is subjected to the three primary environmental loads – Wind, Wave, and Current. The simple outline of the method is to find out what these loads are, sum them up and check if the anchor has enough holding power to overcome the combined environmental loads.
