Yes definitely looks like a Simpson Liahona, Nice headstart for someone who is willing to put in the work. The Liahona is as far as I know Roger Simpson's only trimaran design.

I like the layout and general design especially the aft cabin, in modern terms it looks like the floats are a bit low on volume.

I was referring to the Simpson not the Cross.

Tom.151 Best boat so far? Crowther Twiggy (32')

I had the opportunity to visit this boat back when it was in the early stage of the build - and was impressed by the skill and quality of the builder's work.

Over the years, I've heard from other local multihull builders who had similar praise for this boat.

This isn't the first, nor the last boat, for which a dedicated builder never got to see his work completed - a sadness for all.

I would own it if it weren't so large -- I'm at the stage of downsizing from 30-footers and couldn't think of going to up in size - this will make a great boat for a younger sailor (well younger than my 70's anyway) who's looking for a powerful, well built and equipped boat.

    Sincerely,

I've deleted the Cross 38 post, as it was distracting from the original topic here, so I've put the Cross in a new thread, so both topics can carry on on their own.

They are a very safe cruising trimaran and from what I've heard they have a quite comfortable motion. If it was near me I'd be very tempted to snap it up at that price.

It's not a bad place to live till the build is finished, and then sail her to anywhere in the world.

I am the lucky man that is going to take on this awesome Trimaran! Any information on this design would be greatly appreciated! Also anyone that has seen it in person or met Wilson, the builder, I would love to hear from you!

How tough shape is she? The epoxy looks chalky in some pics.

Hi Birdsey, welcome to the forum, here's conformation that she's indeed a Roger Simpson designed Liahona, and the whole story behind it briefly summarized...
    See e.g. post #6...

Are you going to move her towards your home in NC for completion, or are you going to finish her somewhere near her current spot in MA . . ?

Here's the tri on Google street view -- nov. 2017 -- jul 2015 -- sept. 2013 -- and here on the latest Google satellite view.

Here's a news flash 1 and news flash 2 about the not boat building related garden accident, and obituary 1 and obituary 2, it states Wilson started the boat building project a long way back together with his father.

Very sad accident, my condolences to the family and friends . . :(

    P.S.

This news flash has a video that also briefly shows the tri from ± 0:32 to 0:35 . . .
