    Obviously the boat with least drag will be fastest with the same sail area as long as height of the sail plan is reasonable and the same for all boats and they can all carry the sails.
    There is no reason 50' Farr racer would have less drag than 43 footer in light air. The smaller and lighter hull has less wetted area and therefore has less drag when going slow.

    The Edel 35 is advertised at 5.8 tonnes (12,760 lbs) not the 7,000lbs you claim.
