The SO and I just purchased a 1972 40ft. steel ketch supposedly built in South Africa. The make & model on the title simply reads, "Watts". Can anyone tell me how to get more information on this vessel? We would like to know the boats original design and it's sailing history.

    Thanks,

    Hi Sureibu

If you post a pic or two of the boat out of the water so we can see the full profile, one of us may recognise it.

    cheers

Could be Murray Watts, American architect with many steel boats to his credit.

Thank you both for responding. I have posted a picture of "the jezebel" on our profile page. She was originally named "Norica" as you can see. I wish I had more to go on. I am also going to ask the previous owner some questions the next time he comes down to the marina. I believe he owned her for at least 20 years but has no original paperwork on her. I have found several different registration slips on her and each one puts her at a different length but all have the same as far as 1972 Watts.
