Starter Motors: Alternative Systems

    Every thing is ok untill it rusts.

    If your trying to start after a re bleed im not sure a spring start would do it--well not first time.

    I dont see the prob, an overhauled starter ( wrapped in grease paper) is all one needs. Its only going to fail once and once is all you yould need it.

    There are starter repair shops all over the planet.

    Electric systems fail more often than starters .

    And there are no hand pump electric battery chargers.

    1 item starter motor

    1 item12V battery

    1 set jump leads

    With that you can start anything

    I started a near dead battery, 75 HP diesel, with a few blasts of propane from my tank on a very cold winter morning once. I pulled the glow plugs, pumped in some gas and had just enough battery to set off the gas, flipped the compression releases . . .
