I'm saddened to announce the abrupt passing of Paul.
His family asked if I would post on any forums or sites that he was on due to his long distance business dealings.
Although I am not an avid member, I frequent the forums primarily as a guest, reading and learning from this great site.
I come to have known Paul from this site and hired him for direct consultation by email and phone.
I had a call into Paul and left a voicemail, a couple days later (yesterday) I received a call from his spouse to be informed that Paul had passed that morning and she wanted me to be aware so I didn't think he had forgotten me. I was crushed by the news and in awe of this absolutely awesome mans spouse, upholding his integrity.
Paul was literally one of a kind, willing to help anyone and sharing his infinite knowledge.
He was an inspiration and had a true impact on my project.
RIP Kind Sir, I am honored to have been a pupil in your school of goo.
Condolences can be sent to the address listed in his contact info with attention "Gail Coomer"

Shocking news, and one can only concur with the sentiments expressed above. Certainly a very helpful and knowledgeable man, who will be sorely missed.

I sent him a message yesterday and never heard back from him. Didn't know him other than as a poster here, but respected his every post.

    My condolences to his family.

This is very sad news indeed.

He was a generous provider of advice, was able to express concepts in a clear and precise manner, and had a wealth of diversified knowledge.

I suspect his advice will live on as a valuable and enduring legacy, thanks to the magic of the Internet.

My best wishes to his family and friends at this very sad event.

Very sad news. As others have said, the generosity with which PAR shared his expertise to help others was wonderful and greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten. His talent and spirit will live on in the beautiful boats built from his designs. Sincere condolences and thoughts with his family and friends.

I just saw the news about Paul-I'm so sorry to see him go! He was always very encouraging to me and knew so much about design and building. We had a great conversation just a short time ago-he was always willing to discuss anything. I'll miss him terribly.........

Being new to this forum I've been following different threads going back through the history and so far the posts from PAR are probably the best for being clear and accurate and detailed.. The ongoing standard has taken a rather large hit, what a loss and what a shame, he was very generous with his knowledge., condolences to the family.

One of the few PM conversations I've had here was with Paul, the last just a little bit ago.
The second part was dated May 1, one month ago.
I'll echo the sentiment, RIP Paul Riccelli. You will be missed.

    Sad to hear.

Over the years I've always wanted to visit him on one of my trips to FL, I will always regret not having done it. He was a huge vault of valuable and detailed information acquired through many years of doing the work hands on, and he shared it freely.

He will be missed by me and the many others he's helped over his time here.
