Although i Might have found a place the money i had for the boat was spent bailing a friend out of a big problem ....... so meh i cant afford it now :(
Need tools, wood, fiber, epoxy, etc.... and i have about enough money for epoxy and some basic tools only.
Ill probably do some models or something for the fun of it ... maybe a pot pot boat made from plywood and epoxy ....

Guess my boat will be on hold for a while then ....

    A quick update:

Here is the wood i will use, i also attached the list of materials i need from the plan:

Berth plywood for exterior plywood (Finland counter wood).
Oak or mulberry for the hardwood (what ever is better quality)
Russian Larch (will check if dimensionally stable)
    Pine is available.

Need to do some cost calculations ....
Also got some epoxy samples (will attach spec sheet soonish.) to try out with the wood.
Still no place to build and still financial issue .... will keep pushing though who knows when will the wind change ;)

    Lurvio Mad scientist

I think you mean Birch plywood, search for berth wood came back a bit dry. :)

Couple of school friends made strip canoes a few years back. They used aspen (local wood - bought it from me) and some darker wood (which i don't remember anymore - could have been heat-treated aspen) as stripes. I only saw one of them before fairing, but it looked good.

Well, a very useful post as you can see. :p

Ok quick update (yes i am still alive!!!)

On wednessday im going to get some samples of the following wood:
Russian Larch, Pine and Beach wood. I will take some photo's of the wood samples as i also have the epoxy.

I am aiming to do some trials to get a feel of the wood / epoxy working and at the same time make sure i am going in the right direction by posting and hopefully getting some feedback from our esteemed members :D

Still have a lot of issues to sort but i will push forward anyways.

And we're happy to see you pushing forward, Vulkyn. The next-best thing to building a boat is getting to watch someone else build one.
