I currently have a dense rubber insulation between the bottom of my hatch and hatch lip that I need to replace. It is glued in place and is approx. 3/4 to 1" wide and appox 1/16 to 1/8" thick. Any idea where I can get this tape. It is on the interior engine room hatches to deaden sound.

    I already tried sound down

    Thanks !!

By "dense rubber" do you mean like tire rubber dense? Why didn't Sounddown work?

I would say like an industrial rubber mat, but only 1/16 to 1/8" thick. Sounddown does not make anything like this. Their hatch tape has a "D" like cross section.

    Thanks !

Could be just rubber floor mat like you can get at a big-box hardware store, cut into strips. That would be cheapest anyway.

Refrigeration supply houses stock quite a variety of gasketing material, some of it is self stick, others require glue.
Not sure exactly what it is, possibly neoprene?
It’s black and spongy, and strong as hell.

I would say more dense than copper pipe type insulation if that is neoprene
