help needed with hull software

    Thanks for that info. Orca is still way over the top in price for us novices though.



    Thanks David for the methodology using Rhinos abilities.

    My 'vision' was being able to add weighted components ( engines, tanks, etc ) to see that effect it had on displacement, stability etc.

    Delft/Free ship has this built in, though I have never used them.

    For hydrostatics and stability curves for your Rhino designs you can try PolyCAD (it's free):

    PolyCAD can be used in combination with any other software, i.e. you can use it in reverse order: establish your desired waterline and trim into PolyCAD, and then return to your original software to move your weights in order of matching the displacement and CG position obtained.
