Cabinets are not worth squat for spreading load from a chain plate.

Chain plates are major structure and should be treated as such trying to use other things to pull on is a not brainer !. the loads need to be spread over a wide area not just a localised place . should have been built in and part of the hull structure when the glassing was being done . all mono hullis i ever made we had uni's run from one gunwhale to the other all way down the hull into the keel area and up the other side mixed in with the hull glassing not an after thought and added to after !!.they need to be stong enough to lift the boat with and never have to question there ability to do so !!

It's pretty well settled. I noticed that one of the interior plans for the boat has a hat section at this very bulkhead to throw a couple bunk berths in for max sleeping capacity.
