Glassing Rowing Seats

Hi.

I am trying to work out the easiest way of glassing a number of timber rowing seats. The seats are in reasonable condition. We are refurbishing the entire 17 year old boat but it is not worth replacing the seats.
I have 185gsm carbon fibre twill.
I would prefer to glass the top face as well as the edges - perhaps extending the cloth under the edges of the bottom of the seat (but not the entire bottom face) with a single piece of cloth - if possible.
I do not have access to vacuum bagging. But have access to the usual hand tools for glassing.
I was wondering if someone may have some suggested way of getting a good finish.
