fuel System on an 18' Sangster inboard

I have an 18' Sangster with a 6 cyl Volvo inboard and i need to drain the old fuel out of the tanks under the seats. Can anyone here give me any directions? Thanks. Dan

You mention that the fuel is in tanks 'under the seats' - are the tanks 'just' under the seats, or are they actually under the floor / sole of the boat?

 

The tanks are under the seat not under the floor.looks very much like the ones in the picture.i like that design better than ours. Thanks. DAN

 

You can get a hand pump to pump the gas out into a portable gas can so you can get rid of it. Some hazardous waste sites will take old gas. I bought the one I use at West marine but they are also available online, and at auto parts stores. To get mine to reach to the bottom of the tank I had to add about 18 inches of copper pipe. Apparently there are electric ones available but make sure they are safe for gasoline.
