Diesel outboard? Any market?

    I'd image something like the Seagull but as a diesel on boats that are on the diesel fuel program.

    Or a larger model for more industrial use, and replacing 'gas hogs'.

    I read somewhere that Yanmar doesn't make outboard diesels any more. This may be why "SUPERSEDED" is posted at the top of that yanmar web page.

    Yup...they are gone. My point was, they did not sell very well.

    NO, they would have sold. The problems was they could not meet US emissions, also they where expensive $21 for 27 hp. Diesel outboards would be great but hard to make cheaply, small or pass emission.
