Designing carbon fiber spar

    Hello everyone,
    Plan to make modification to the existing, sport catamaran requiring making structural carbon fiber spar in form of I-beam or retriangular tube 1.5" x 3.5" and wall thickness .08" to .10"
    Which one of the two would be stronger given the same cross section area of the about .8 to 1 square inch and equal weight of the final product?
