    Except for me . . .

Welcome to the forum. Are you looking for a custom designed cat or someone to "square up" your work, so it floats with the decks facing up on launch day? Or is it that you have a well founded design and you'd like it built?

Those that have accused experienced professionals such as PAR of being a horribly arrogant naysayer are typically upset when he occasionally splashes a cold bucket of reality on their heads while in a heavy "My-dream-boat-design-is-perfect" fog.

He and his kind will write terribly discouraging things like, " a better understanding of hydrodynamics would help you", or, "that's not a safe thing to do" or even worse, the dreaded recommendation to read some books before proceeding. Just outrageous. You've been warned.

PAR, thanks for the heads up. In my highly successful, award-winning, professional architectural design career of 38 years I have always admired the mind of a proven engineer.

If you're up to it, there are several texts that will get you in the groove, in regard to hydrodynamics and the principles and concepts we employ. The book store here with yacht design as the search phrase will yield many results.

In all honesty, you'd probably be more quickly served, to hire a NA or designer and incorporate your styling clues into it's aesthetics.

PAR your honesty is appreciated. I have posted my intent to hire a naval engineer and builder. Thread link- we want to build boats- was answered by me. This was always my intent. But for preliminary design review I came here to gather a little information on hydrodynamics ect. Just to be in the ballpark for the engineer.
