i found a couple place with wood rot the corners around the front windows needs adressing and i think the deck is still the original canva in paint now i can see cracks on top IMG_20180330_110713.jpg
im wondering if i should just rip everything off and replace with fiberglass ( the deck is plywood)
or leave it and coat the deck with a liquid rubber like sanitred ?
oh and by the way its my first wood boat im new to wood working

That picture of the top shows to me bubbling up of the cloth.
If its in bad shape, I would tear it all off.
Then you could use Sani Tred or Flex Seal white rubber right on the wood after smoothing and patching holes.
FLEX SEALĀ® LIQUID is liquid rubber in a can! Now you can brush it on, roll it on, dip it or pour it anywhere you need it! https://www.flexsealproducts.com/product/liquid-gallon/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw2f7bBRDVARIsAAwYBBuHjRA9QQG-ZciW4-c7wY7N1vXuR1jGpuZmSDV_d9RdR6Hi3edistQaAjgSEALw_wcB

Some people on the Trawler Forum have used this on their decks and like it very much.

That looks like old canvas, remove , sand and epoxy. Then use Dynell (Jamestown Dist) It will give a great non skid. I restore a 1939 38'er Take care of the old girl, David IMG_2625.JPG
