Just finished my 12' Bahia Panga and am now starting on my 19' Quintana Panga plans that I just ordered from spirainternational.com.

I'll be taking the basic plans and making some slight modifications to get a boat that will be nice for cruising the harbor as well as fishing and possibly overnighting at Catalina Island now and then.

I'm using the base 19' Quintana Panga and will be making some modification along the lines of the classic Redwing and Downeaster Lobster boat style

Boat will have wrap around seating in the stern with a small cabin up front for a head and berths.

I'll be hanging the outboard off the back with an extended outboard bracket.

    Nice project.

One suggestion that will make your thread more readable to others. Post you pictures as thumbnails or reduce the size of the photos...or both. These large photos really screw with readability of the thread. I finally stopped following your other build because it was a pain to read text that would run off of the screen because of the size of your photos.

    Just my two cents.

This is the 12 footer I just finished. The 19 footer will have pretty much the same shape/lines with a cabin up front.

Started lofting today. Frames will be 8 inches wider then original plans so that I can get an 8'6" width. Built the first frame and still have a nice Vee with the extra four inches on each side. I used 10x2.5" deck screws on my last boat and am very happy with how easy they are to drive with the star heads and their corrosion resistance. I'm not going to epoxy any of the frames until I have them all finished and sitting on the strongback. I'm going to put in some additional detail to the frame and try to get as close to perfect as I can on the measurments.

Decided that I need to build a full lofting table since my measurements weren't accurate enough only doing one half at a time.
Today I fixed the first frame and finished the second frame. I'm really happy with how wide the interior will be. On the future frames, I'm going to divert a little from the plans on the heights so that I get more of a Lobster Boat feel. The plans start the rise at about the fourth frame. I'm going to extend that out to about the sixth frame.

Hi, didn't realize the server that was hosting my photos is down. Here is a YouTube link with some videos from July. Since then I have finished glassing the bottom and have faired, primed, sanded and ready to flip it.

I should also mention that I lengthened the boat to 22' from the original 19' and have widened the beam to 8'9". I did the beam stretch by adding to the width of the sheer clamp and chine log. What this does is give you a little less deadrise and a nice sharp bow entry.

    Progress

    Hi all,
Flipped the boat last weekend and have started working on the interior. Since this photo I have started working on the gunwales, run conduit and created a template for the sole. Boat length without the outboard pod is 21'9" and the beam is 8'6"

Just added one yesterday. The server that my old ones were on no longer exists.
