    I've never seen that, could you provide examples and explain why you think it's hilarious, and provide links so interested parties can see it in it's original context and judge for themselves if your above statement is right . . ? ? ?

    Let's not start this again please......it's about how Sven tried to get around the AIT rules which he recognized himself as being not fair.....
    Nothing hilarious about that.

    If that was WindRaf's point then you're right, nothing hilarious about it and also nothing mathematical, it was a matter of disagreement how to interpret the "AIT rules" and whichever potential room there is to maneuver around them.

    around in ten with fourteen to me was very funny;
    and as a justification he used the old rules of the America's Cup, but if you want to compare with that regulation must participate with a ten to the America's cup

    maybe we have different sense of humor
    :p

    The original Around-In-Ten rules were not limited to rudders and bowsprits and booms only, extending beyond the 10 feet. It was anything re-moveable. What complicated things further was that no governing body exists to interpret or clarify the rules. If we can accept things like sea anchors, and steering oars in particular, and also allow and even encourage innovation, research, and development, then I think it is wrong to have too limited a view of what is cheating and what is good engineering. The obvious choice would be a bolt on stern section I suppose, which does break the spirit of 10 foot length, but if you are simply making your rudder or steering oars more buoyant it is not so obvious a rule beater as an well considered solution, with possible applications outside of such competitions. I think Yrvind was right to move on given his personal interests, and his sponsors interests as well. It is only some members of the peanut gallery that he seems to have offended, and they are only part of the unofficial governing body.

    Practical question. Where is the trophy? I would argue whoever is in possession of the trophy is the governing body, and they could be asked to clarify the rules. The photo of the trophy is rather vague also. Was there ever a physical trophy, and was that an actual photo, or was it just an graphic model of a trophy. If it was just a graphic model, then perhaps whoever created the original graphic is the governing body, unless they have passed it on to someone else.

    So who does have the trophy, or who created the graphic?

    Well, you may think that's hilarious, but that doesn't make it mathematical as you stated earlier . . :eek:

    You only push yourself down with grandiloquence to someone who isn't on this forum and to whom you can't compete in achievements . . :idea:

    So does anyone know where the trophy is kept, or if it really exists?
    I hope it isn't in the hands of that p0rn site. That could be awkward.

    Jamie, about the AIT trophy I will respond later on the general AIT thread as that suits the topic better, but just have to do some work first . . :eek:
