I reckon the one on the left, regardless of the running surfaces, the left is a much better pic, the right is shot from the wrong angle/height & make the sheer look weird, might be a good boat but the fwd rails are a bit cacky looking & the extra shade & freeboard of the "whaler" on the left put it ahead, I'd like to see more shade though..... Some kinda subjective rather than technical points I know but they're your pics. Jeff.

the one that looks sexy and fast on the show room floor, regardless of its on-water performance, will sell better in the US market. unfortunate fact of the current consumer market. Most in the US are buying it to impress people they do not even like that much. Performance is a totally secondary issue.

Even if you make the best boat, you will go bankrupts if it is not sexy and sleek looking. You have to get them sold before you can make any money.

And it can be a womens choice

If the wife likes it its yours !! if women like things ,men will buy nothing surer!! colour ,shape ,style ,admit it men ,women have it all !! silly as it sounds and you can poo poo me but if the wife dont like it and you buy it it is a strick against you !! and you will never live it down even after you sell it later . same with kids if they like it and mum likes it you will get a huge plus stamp on you hand and be flavor of the month ! if mum and the kids dont like it make a bed in the garage !! :p

The one thing I have utter control over is the boat and the car, The parity of the US dollar and the Aussie dollar means to me that a US product outshines an AUS product easlily.

An American made boat is far better than any Aus boat.

ya right there racing yachts break in the middle and sink when they under pressure !! Never see to many assie boat . but in saying that we do have a collection of old outdated moulds and boats in this factory where i am !! and the company wonders why they had trouble selling them !!. I took one look when i first arrived and shut my eyes and shook my head !! Its wasnt what i first came here for so i didnt care untill i was asked to sort out how to make them !! Took one look at the drawings and rolled then up and dropped them in the bin!! :(

As for trying to sell into the usa hes wasting your time . look at his own local market first !! or manufacturing in china and exporting back into Australia and undercutting the prices !! its what has and is done

You should have heard what Romney and Obama said about China on labour and production in the last debate finishing about 20 minutes ago.

You might want to start packing your suitcase.

    been there done that !
My bags already been packed for a month and letter of resignation just needs to be printed and signed !! and im outta here

Last weekend i noticed there is a noticeable and visable slow down here and its just like when i was in Japan few years back when there econamy fell over . the shopping centres are noticably quiet its the first sign, theres more people taking bus's than ever before . because they're are cheap !!. Companies are providing more mini bus's for staff to be picked up and taken home . Big building projects are still going but the new buildings when they finished are vacant and empty !! :(

It was 10 years ago that Japans economy fell, they call it the lost decade.

Its quite here too but it always is in wet season.

Romney called the Chinese currency manipulators and if the playing field was flat and they played fair they would not beat American products. I hasten to add that I dont personally subscribe to this theory.

BUT--- America builds some lovely quality boats and Im talking fittings and interiors too.

Its a short while ago that I read that sea wind went in to voluntary liquidation.

Seawind yachts was one of Australia's examples of success having been awarded company of the year on more than one occasion.

They came out of the front door at one a week and most shipped to USA.

Iether quality or currency exchange got to them. Perhaps a bit of both.

If I saw a Chinese made boat there's slim and no much chance of me buying it.

Almost anything mechanical-gas powered,a bit complicated, for the most part you are better off buying a good used Japanese or American made product.

China has 65 million empty apartments/homes, abandoned cities, abandoned cities of skyscrapers.

Its quite funny but the chinese in general dont want chinese products , they want imported goods specially with popular brand names . me i buy popular chinese brand!!, Li-ning is a really good brand of sports cloths and shoes with nice designs and colours ,in the past year theres lots shops opened up .
Last boat show was funny ,one small power boat manufacture selling chinese made boats from old kiwi moulds advertised just that !! when i find the picture i will post it i laughted when i saw the sign on the wall !! :)

Don't laugh at China --fear them. They will not tolerate failure thier government is severe and tenacious. The success of Hong kong and Singapore was pure Chinese tenacity mixed with British capitalism.

You have short memories,-- Japan was the same 50 years ago making products so cheap they were only fit for Christmas crackers and 3 penny toys. Now they are the epitome of Quality.

You need to get out of the hole you live in and broaden your mind a little . get ya butt on a plane and visit and stay in china a while like a month . what you see on tv is a load of rubbish in all cases . The china i know now is absolutely nothing like what i exspected when i landed here . what you seeing is totall manipulted media rubbish . i thought just like you did and all my asumptions were completely wrong!!, thinking back nothing i was lead to believe have i seen or found in the 2 years i been living and working here i have travelled quite a few places and seen lots .:p

The made in china rubbish you find in your shops you cant find here!!, its made to what your importers want ,they want cheap so they get cheap !! the chinese themselves dont buy that kind of stuff that you get .
The outside world really it told lies and feed rubbish by the media . I would gladly live here for the rest of my life if i could find a way to stay here perminantly .
Going home to my own home country was like stepping into the past my immediate thoughts were "what the hell am i doing here "!!!!, one day back i felt i was in a third world country!
