I stumbled upon this video in YouTube. You hull designers may find it interesting. Here is a boat designed to make as big a wake as possible while planing at high speed. I guess just the opposite of what you are normally striving for. I assume any wake is wasted energy.

Very annoying music, little information, wasted time to show as little as possible. The wake must be for the ski guy to have fun.
    But who knows.

The boat is purpose built to produce as much wake as possible for wake boarding aerobatics (spins, flips, etc.) Some may find the hull design interesting, I know I did. I would think to produce a large wake from a planing boat would be a design challenge. The nice thing about YouTube is you can rapidly skip through what you don't want to see, or hear, but freeze frame what you do want to study (such as the unique design to achieve the high wake goal while planing). I think it is fascinating.

Yes You-Tube is fascinating. Everyone can put a movie for the world to see. I never thought I will be seen that happens in my life.

If you go to the last third of this YouTube video you can see the tremendous wake these little wake boats generate and the reason for doing it:

I wonder if Bolger box keel planing boats do the same thing?
