Does anyone else feel uncomfortable about the uncaring way in which toy and vintage model boats are presented on ebay? Ok, I know, this couldn't be more pedantic but...
Couldn't sellers just arrange the sails properly? Picture shows an example:

Ok I'll take the bait. I'd like to see the jib and mainsail nice and taut with no wrinkles, tight luffs, boom slightly above horizontal, not drooping....

The seller could at least put it on a stand so it is upright and then photograph it from several angles. I've sold some stuff on ebay, and decent photos of the item you are selling make a big difference.

I guess it's just bad salesmanship, to not present an item in its best light, their "funeral" as the saying goes.

They don't want it, and they don't care.
Why would they make a big deal of it?

You should be able to get it cheaper if they don't care - better for you - if you really care.

Upchurchmr, If I'm selling on ebay I try to present in the best possible light in the hope of making more money. Ebay spotted my use of the image and suggested four more "vintage pond yachts" that I might like; all equally as ugly in presentation. Part of my trivial moan is that sellers have no appreciation of the aesthetics of a yacht

Aren't you stating what is obvious?
    From the picture?
Since when is any random stranger required to share your aesthetic?
With all the druggies, criminals and politicians why do you want to compare yourself to others?
