With exception of the rigging this Friedman Designed Kodiak raised deck motorsailer caught my eye but I was unable to track down any info on it or Port Royal Marine. I came across the design in one of my older design books. (1988 Boat Kit & Plans.) Anyone out there with any leads or additional info. Thanks---Geo.

Phil Friedman left Canada (for Florida) shortly after that was published and became a writer/editor for Motor Boating & Sailing (now gone). Later he ran the Palmer Johnston yard for a bit, then returned to Florida. The Port Royal Marine Group is currently based in Miami/Fort Lauderdale I believe.....

Thanks Tad, I did track down a couple of Kodiak 41's but they went the traditional trunk cabin wheelhouse above decks. The 31 foot version made use of the raised deck/flush deck wheelhouse set up which caught my eye. I 'll try the e mail ad. and see what happens. I see you are also experiencing some white flakes out your way, we are having a terrible cold winter here, takes about 4 hours to reach comfortable working temperature in the shop. Happy I am I don't have to do it for a living anymore. :) ---Geo.

Thanks again Tad I have successfully contacted Phil Friedman via e mail and got an update on that design. (Deep in the archived files) :) Not important just wanted to have a closer look at it. ---

    Glad that worked out......

Snowed again here yesterday, and we still have snow on the ground from 10 days ago.......you'd think we were in Manitoba!

Yup it's one cold winter, wife's sister lives in Vancouver so we hear all about it . Also learned that the Kodiak 31 was built by Kettle Creek Boatworks, Port Stanley Ont. Small world I was stationed not far from there for a year back in their operational days.
