So here is the short and sweet version of the story.
i wasn't really looking to buy a boat but when i saw this boat i decided to get it because the price was right.

It is a 10' g.w. invader with a 60hp Suzuki and jet drive. it has alot of problems but nothing i don't think i cant figure out. hers a short list of things i know that have to be changed/fixed

    more permanent trim tabs
crack in the side of the boat
the floor needs to have a panel replaced and the seat finished
another bilge pump needs to be installed
the hull needs a few spots patched
all the wiring needs to be rearranged
the hull needs a small design change

It really isnt a bad boat for $500 and it came with a trailer. feel free to give any advice :) Its a pretty fun little boat to zip around in. Updates with pictures will be posted fairly regularly

Also i am a mechanic and i study aerodynamics so i should grasp most concepts without to much difficulty but please be patient with me, i build cars so boats are getting pretty close to the edge of my comfort zone :p

Just a quick update to show what iv done since i got the boat,
it had an issue with porpoising when i got it which is probably the reason it has been passed from owner to owner so many times. I made a temporary foil that is adjustable which solved the problem. I have to make permanent ones for it however.

There are a few things wrong with it, first off it is made out of metal and already starting to rust, second it has a small surface area and has to be on a steep angle to supply the lift i need, which means at a slow speed it dosen't apply much lift but at high speeds it try's to lift the boat completely out of the water and it gets VERY unstable, as well as lets air into the jet.

I am going to make two trim tabs instead of one in the center of the boat. advice and tips on making these would be much appreciated. I have the hinges but i need turnbuckles of some sort.
Electrical is probably next, it is a mess. The lights are hooked to the bilge pump, as well as the ground for the fuel gauge. And a wire has to be ran from the voltage regulator to the battery.

A pair of small Lenco trimtabs could be worth buying for this. That would let you adjust them for speed and it's not hard to move to another boat if you want to change later.
