Sidewinder information

    Thanks for the response..very cool to hear from you.. the boat was registered in New York until ‘ 96,transferred to Ontario then. The only number I’ve got on the plate is
    SJ 107,just going to mention that there’s pictures of me in diapers in my dad’s 74’ 16 footer and of me skiing behind our neighbours ‘79..thought I had a history with sidewinder but you’re much closer.lol

    Originally registered in New York..came to Ontario in’96.the number on my plate is SJ107(hand scribed)...I believe that this was built before any boats were made up here.. I grew up with a sidewinder as a kid..my dad had a ‘73 and our neighbour had a ‘79..Both with outboards. I’ll look into USCG but any info about it would be awesome..most interested in how many were made..cheers

    Here is a Canadian made 16SS Sidewinder, 1984, restored 2 years ago.

    A flat pad added to the bottom, 3/4” depth x 10” width, tapering to nothing in 8’ running to towards the bow will help reduce chine walk. Also Nauticus automatic trim tabs, 40 lbs. pressure set flat not at 25 degree drop will stabilize top end running.
