    Dear Forum Colleagues,

I'm a mechanical engineer with around 11 years of experience. My primary area of expertise is product design with 3D packages such as Solidworks.

I've worked in all types of industries from automotive to aerospace to consumer products.

For a while I've been interested in pursuing a career or at least a consulting position in the boating world. While I'm not an owner of a yacht, I really enjoy them and would appreciate an opportunity to work with a firm which designs and builds them.

I would like to ask folks on this website what recommendations they'd have for someone like myself on how to enter this field of discipline, what would be the best way to start? Who could I contact initially? What companies are recommended and would hire design engineer like myself?

I would appreciate any suggestions that can come my way. For any potential companies or HR people who browse this forum, I'd be happy to email you a copy of my resume if required.

I'll entertain moving or relocation...particularly back to Europe or Canada.

    Thank you all in advance.
