propulsion power estimating for crafts not longer than 2 m

    Hello everybody,
    I’m looking for any method for estimating propulsion power requirements for very small crafts, not longer than 2 meters.

    Any ideas greatly appreciated.

    Maybe use a weight scale to determine line tension when the small craft is towed behind a motorboat?

    Better to tow it beside the motorboat in clean water.

    Thanks for both of you Porta and Tom. I'll definitely try this method and I think it will give quite good results (if I'll find precise weight scale), but at first I wold like to estimate by any available mathematical method.
