patching an aluminium prop

    The prop on my 18hp Evinrude is pitted,the overall shape is still intact.
    Is there a way to fill the pits and re-paint the prop?
    I thought of cleaning out the pits and using epoxy to fill them,then sanding them smooth before painting.
    Seems a shame to scrap a decent looking prop just because of a few pits.

    That will work fine. If you can sandblast it, the epoxy will have better adhesion.

    May work but prop may be weakened by pits- carry a spare.
