I keep getting "Invalid Numeric input" message.

when importing offsets txt file into Delftship how should the imperial measurements be written ? 6.4.2 or 6' 4.2" ect ??

what does "contour line " refir to , butt lines , diagonals ??

a glossary of terminology would be big help.

I am trying to get Martijn's attention and maybe he can help us all by answering these questions .The tutorial in vague or just assumes we are all naval architectural graduates :p

we need "A Complete Idiots Guide To Delftship" :D

I can see the potential of this program but totally frustrated at even the simplest first steps.

I am going to try Richards idea and export offsets to start with.

    OK,the plot thickens !

exporting offsets will give you the table in decimal feet/inches ,so it looks something like 6.958

so going the other way 6'.7''.3/8 you must convert the 3/8ths into decimal inches,

    3 divided X 8 = 0.375 ,

    or 79.375" which is 79" .375 = 6' 7.375" ,

    so now I must convert 7" to a decimal of a foot , 7 divided x 12 = 0.5833333

    + .375 = 0.9583333 + 6' = 6.9583333

if there is an easier way please tell me !!! :(

When using the SI units table? I always (well once a year) get my results. But I avoid the old fashioned system like pest and cancer.
