New formulae for predicting prop diameter, speed, and more

    New hydrodynamic scale-free predictions for

    -prop diameter, shaft hp, RPM

    -boat speed, shaft hp, weight

    -how gear ratio changes expected speed

    Also included are

    -the explanation why 'swinging the biggest diameter possible at the lowest RPM
    is the wrong advice for high performance rigs

    -statement for leading edge camber condition, first time in print

    -the physics of surface-piercing, qualitatively seen, based on circulation conservation and vortex stretching.

    Very interesting presentation Professor, I look forward to giving it a more thorough read.

    In the mean time, have you considered submitting this to a peer-reviewed journal? The Journal of Ship Production and Design would be happy to consider it.

    No, SNAME membership is definitely NOT required. Have a look at the submission procedures at

    http://www.sname.org/pubs/journals1

    You may prefer to submit to Journal of Ship Research, totally your choice though. (JSR is a bit more theoretical, where JSPD is a bit more practical/industrial.)
