I'm looking into getting a below deck installed head fuller...and now just trying to see if I have space for it without having to rebuild the whole thing...

One idea is to add a chainplate like the red area you see on the pic. Would this be ok, or will there be any weird tension?

The first problem is that you will be changing the angle of the forestay to the mast. That will increase compression, change the center of effort of the sail and will require the sheet block to be shifted aft. If that is not an issue, bolting a fitting through the bow stem may be the easiest method.

I will change the angle by less than 1 degree. It shouldnt be that much of a difference. The move is just about 20-25 cm.

The angle difference is not much. The CE change may make a difference.
