Mounting of shaft brackets

    How are shaft brackets (like in the picture below, the upper right one type - only much larger, approximatelly 1m in length) mounted to the hull?

    Ughm, I mean ... how are they structurally (oh, boy - my english) fixed? I assume there is a thick plate inside the shell fixed to the transverse frames, and maybe brackets which hold it to the centerline girder?

    Or am I completely off ... ?

    It depends on the bottom structure, the length of the shaft, horsepower, propeller diameter, etc.

    Could you give an example or two?

    (about 300kW, diameter 0.7m or so ...)

    For examples, look at blueprints. The installation of shafts and struts is part of the whole design. Studying existing designs is a good way to learn. Looking at the photo you posted, the only safe thing to say is that they will have bolts through the holes. Other than that, there isn't a generic installation.
