modern diesel for small powerboat?

    Thanks for the info. That sure looks like a sweet replacement for my BBC. Lots of torque. LOL, one more item on the wish list!

    The title of this thread is "modern diesel for small powerboat", so imho this brontosaurus from GM does not qualify!

    I have seen the 90's VW TDI used,and Kubota and John Deer compact tractor diesels.If your boat is going to be hauled in/out every trip,I would not worry about lighting strikes.Salt water does conduct electricity a lot better than fresh water.The easiest engines would be the non turbo mechanical injected motors.You can loose all electric power and still make it home.
