Anyone have any info on the mechanicals required to load and dump water ballast. I'm looking for simple tech approaches using off the shelf hardware store type solutions if possible. The only system I am familiar with is the bailers system that the Gougeons have used on their boats. A little expensive for backyard projects, but fine for boats outfitted to their level.

    Any other ideas?

Hydroptere uses an intake on the forward side of the rudder and apparently it develops enough pressure to fill a tank 40' to windward. Might be able to use something along these lines.
