You are correct as far as l know from my from my uni day. Never purchase a copy my self. Think the number of surface you can use maybe limited.
    Website explains it clearly.

We are in the process of making Maxsurf AE non-copy protected and free of charge to students, I should be able to post a link to a download page in the next few days.

Maxsurf academic has three surfaces so is functionally identical to Maxsurf/T. This allows separate surfaces to be used for hull, keel and rudder on a sailing yacht or bottom panel, chine flat and topside on a hard chined vessel, so this is the minimum configuration that is useful. All other standard features of Maxsurf are enabled.

The correct link to our web site is http://www.formsys.com

3 Surfaces? I struggle keeping it under 20 in AutoYacht. I have to keep converting things to polys and redoing them every time I change something. 3 would be not much use at all. Accurate weight estimates would be out of the question. :p

I appreciate your position - we will most likely offer recent purchasers of Maxsurf AE a free upgrade to Maxsurf Plus or software of equivalent value

We are finalising version 10 of Maxsurf at the moment and the free academic version will be included in that release. We are currently beta testing and if all goes well should do the final release in the next couple of weeks

Maxsurf 10 is still Beta testing, as usual we kept being asked to add features and this has dragged things out. We hope to get the release out by the end of February. Maxsurf AE web site will be up and running at the same time, I will post the URL when it is available.
