Greetings and Salutations. I am the new owner of the paddlewheel boat that I've seen posted in a video or 3 elsewhere in this forum. Once I get a better grip on how video insertion works around here, I'll get around to sharing some footage of it.

I have a few questions for the community, but I don't want to go just blindly posting in the wrong forums. Can anyone give me some pointers on which forums would probably be the best places to start?

My goals at the moment are to improve the hull's wave riding and general handling characteristics with a minimum of materials and time. I'm also open to other suggestions that may come up, but first I need to get pointed in the right direction.

Thanks for your time in advance.

    Welcome to the forum.

The best way to include your videos in your post is to upload the video to youtube. You will get a share URL in the form youtu.be/VIDEOID

Use [youtube]VIDEOID[/youtube] BBCode tags with the VIDEO ID (the number sequence after youtu.be/ ) to embed your video in a forum post.

As far as which forum to post in, just choose the one forum which is the best match for a given topic, and post it there:

    • The Hydrodynamics and Aerodynamics forum is a good choice for starting a technical discussion of a particular feature or method of calculating or predicting performance of a design or design element.
    • The main Boat Design forum is a good choice for overall design discussion, for example starting with a statement of requirements and discussing various options to accomplish the SOR with the overall boat and project in mind, or discussing design elements as they impact the overall boat, budget, existing skills, operating conditions, etc.
    • The Powerboats forum is best to discuss a known existing powerboat. This can be whether an existing powerboat will fit your use, or discussing modifications with others familiar with a particular powerboat.
There is obviously some overlap between all the forums; just choose the one which seems to be the best fit and let the discussion develop from there.
