I am wetbagging currently. My resin losses are around 30 percent or so on large parts with triax; less with biax, but still high. I’d like to try infusion without buying new core and epoxy.

Can infusion be done with core that is perforated on 2” centers if I use the right infusion media? The media with the lines in it? Does that sit right on the peelply? What about the table side then or should I start upside only and just peelply the table side?

What is the highest viscosity resin allowed?

When you infuse both the table side and the bag side; what allows for the proper flow on each side? Can it work with the holes I have?

If you do a panel that is say 5’ long and tapered say from 3.5’ to 2’; how many inputs and outputs are needed?

Someone gave me a link on infusion, and I intend to find it, but not sure it will help me try within my constraints.

I ws told by the epoxy manufacturer that I could warm my epoxy and it’d flow well enough. It has 120 minute 100g ambient gel time. (Xslow)

    Thanks for any replies.

Perforated core will work. When I did it I used a perf'd core with the flow media on the table side because I wasn't needing a finished surface. I used a point outlet line at the center of a 4x8 core and I drilled a 3/8 hole in the core there to make sure I was pulling vacuum at the center of the panel from both sides since I was infusing inward.

The flow media sits on top of the perforated release film which sits on top of the peelply which sits on top of the laminate stack.

I wouldn't use anything greater than 300 cps

It will work, just make sure your infusion strategy provides vacuum through the whole pull.

That's not a very long distance, you could infuse outward from a single point with flow media to an outlet hose which encircled the entire part... In which case you wouldn't need to drill the center hole in the core

Infusion Plan https://www.boatdesign.net/threads/infusion-plan.43380/ ... a lot of people contributed to my build, some good info there.

Depends on your ambient temperature. Here in Florida no need, infusion is quick, use the slow hardener and your good to go. I will say one thing, practice on some small parts to get the hang of it.

Yes, practice on some small scraps first. Then you'll understand.
