Hydrogen-batteries-70 kw electric motor system

OK, I'm going to ask for help, as I have not been able to find information on this.

I'm studying a hydrogen fuel cell-batteries-70 kw electric motor system for an experimental FV (requirements of the client), and the first problem I have is I cannot find 70kw continuous operation DC electric motors. The biggest I found in a couple of hours search is of about 35 kw, and not a marine one.

Any ideas?

Most marine EPM's I know of are custom designed for the application and water cooled. Also, why do you want DC? With modern variable phase inverters, Variable frequency AC motors are now the norm for propulsion.

General Electric produces DC motors in your power range. You could take a look either at their Kinamatic or Mill Duty series.

 

Brushless "DC" motors operate virtually the same as a 3 phase synchronous AC.

Naturally liquid cooled..check out Siemens bus motors, and there's a company whose name escapes me ,maybe I'll remember it

 

Siemens has the 5/6/7 range of DC motors from 30kW to over 300kW (and the Marine knockoffs), there should be one for your application.

The only motors that I've seen for electric, that would work for boat up to 50' are Solomontechnologies.com Electric motors. But they are probably to small for your application.

 

Yes, I've seen them. They only go up to around 25 kW if I'm not wrong now.
