Glad to hear the calculations works all right with modern hulls as well.

    Hi all,

Could anyone confirm my understanding: does rocker mean buttock angle?

Regarding the hull transformation mentioned on FAST 2017 The result of Delft Systematic Deadrise Series, anyone have link to the reference? i.e
Versluis, A. (1977), Computer Aided Design of Shipform by Affine Transformation, Report No. 438P, Ship Hydromechanics Laboratory, Delft University of Technology
I haven't found it on internet.

    Cheers,
    Raden

    Hi Angelique,

Many thanks for your insight. That's very enlightening.
After reading a lot of reference and re-reading the publication of DSDS, obtained from its dedicated website: FAST 2017 The result of DSDS, J.A Keuning. I missed the important details: the term "rocker" in DSDS is defined by buttock angle.

I don't think the presented quote says ‘‘rocker = buttock angle’’, think it speaks about ‘‘rocker and the buttock angle’’ as different items, but the rocker is only meant there in the aft part of the ship, as it says ‘‘rocker in the aft ship’’, but it also could be they're mixing up terms there, I'm not sure about this.
