Carbon/Kevlar shaft layup questions

    Hey,

    You said that there were glass SMC parts similar to this. Perhaps you know the thickness of these parts? If you build up a similar thickness in the earlier mentioned 0, +45, -45, 0 in carbon (and repeat this untill you get the required thickness), you'll probably have a conservative design which is a similar in weight (carbon weighs less than glass, but you'll probably have a higher fiber content) but will work.

    Nevertheless, I would try to get the aluminium parts out as well. Engineering might be a good solution.
