Bildge Pump

    Best 1000 GPH bildge pump for my center console boat? Any input?:confused:

    A 1,600 GPH bilge pump and another one mounted a little higher up.

    Not trying to be coy, but the biggest pump you can find and install. The GPH ratings for these puppies are in perfect laboratory condisions, with clean water, very little lift, no rolling boat and likely smooth hoses too. I've seen a summer storm flood small boats, even with their pumps running their brains out. In short, if it says 1,000 GPH, figure 500 to 750 on a good day GPH and the little plastic impeller will cook and seize before it runs long enough to bail your boat. Do what your exgirlfriend always told you and go big, as big as you can.
