Interesting that there are no replies yet... I have also alway keep my eye out for a 'power boat design' book, but like awermedia says, most are about sail... or they are about a particular type or brand of boat... Hope someone knows of one..

If you are after hydrodynamics I can recommend "Hydrodynamics of High-Speed Marine Vehicles" by Odd M. Faltinsen.

It deals with resistance and propulsion as well as seakeeping characteristics and vibration issues of various types of fast powered vessels (planing hulls, hydrofoil craft, surface effect ships, fast displacement hulls and so on). It contains lots of maths but is a very interesting and useful read in my opinion.

Since it's a relatively new book (from 2005) it provides quite up to date information.

"Sorensen's Guide to Powerboats" and "all about powerboats" by roger marshall have some good tips.

    LOL,
I have a couple of those books in my personal library. I feel confident in expressing not only my thanks but the thanks of Amazon for this extended list.
