Great - finally! Because there has only been one (well in 2 parts)!

Ok..that's a simple one liner explanation that provides meaning to 'vibration' - doesn't fully explain - but it is close enough and considering the lack of clarifications thus far, i'll take this for now.

So....what is the definition of oscillation?


Because words have meaning.
If you you don't say what you mean, you wont mean what you say. Thus, correct definitions are the backbone of any argument. Google translate doesn't understand that either!

 

As in a geographical area, more correctly a circumference within which it has an indeterminate location when at rest. A vibration must have what the textbooks calls an equilibrium position being the position it constantly returns to if it's not vibrating.

I've suggested you read the first paragraph of any Mechanical Vibration textbook. It's usually strictly defined in the first paragraph of the first chapter.

 

Gonzo is apparently capable of understanding. He's just graduated with a first degree in Engineering Science. He might be stubborn and frustrating but not incapable. Somehow he's managed to get some very fundamental concepts confused. It is very much in his interest to sort that out.
