    Thank you Woolsh,

Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that the end justifies the means, I am just trying to see the glass half full rather than half empty...I do not believe that any harmful thing can come out of those machines, so I try to judge them on aesthetical rather than ethical grounds. (I wouldn’t do the same for the huge private motor yachts of their owners, though.)

You almost have to have a pretty big yacht if your racing dinghy is 90 x 90 ... :)

That is a very nice sentiment Xarax----but it does not go far enough.
The technical achievement has to be recognized.
Huge amounts of money are poured into F1 and Grand Prix motor racing. The sometimes bitter lessons learned over the years have resulted in the magnificent cars we drive on the roads today.

The same thing is happening on the water and the fruit of the technology which we have witnessed in AC 32 will filter down to new generations of sailboats as sure as terylene sails gave way to carbon/mylar and glass/polyester is giving way to carbon/epoxy, stainless steel giving way to high modulus polyethylene rigging, --- the list goes on.
